elcome to the second issue of "Loose Pages", the beckhambooks.com newsletter.

That's right, February was our first issue - which we have now archived. We will now archive all our issues so you can browse through and find something you might have missed. Our archive links are situated at the top right of this page and will of course appear up-to-date for all subsequent issues.

You can subscribe to "Loose Pages" and recieve the current issue, as it's published, in a monthy E-Mail. In addition to recieving a convenient breakdown of the current issue you will also be privy to new promotions and aquisitions before anyone else.

This early sping period has been especially busy down at Beckhambooks. In addition to fine tuning our newly transformed website, Adrian has started the Beckhambooks.com blog and has been churning out the posts - you can see for yourself. In this issue of "Loose Pages" we'll provide a digest of some of the blog content. We might even make a monthly blog digest a regular thing.

We've made some interesting aquisitions recently, you might have noticed the Victorian Folio bible on our home page. I especially like the frontis; I recommend you take a look at the frontis and more shots of the bible...

Anyway, enough of me; lets get on with the good stuff!

A busy start to spring: new web site attracts more vistors
arch has seen a 75% increase in new visitors to the Beckhambooks.com web site compared ot the average of the last six months.
Returning visitors are up too, by a whole 50%. Some of you must be liking what we're doing! Thanks for the vote of confidence. The upward trend is also reflected in our sales. That means we can keep getting the quality books and antiques you want.

18th Century prayer books engravings prove to be a success

When designing our new web site, we were determined to make available for purchase, some of the religious antiques and ephemera that we normally buy and sell to dealers or that we hadn't even realised we had! A set of hand-coloured, 18th Century prayer book engravings we have had for some time seemed to fit the bill perfectly. And so, they were(and still are) included in our new site. We sold 25 almost as soon as they appeared on our new site! I guess we made the right decision.

Don't worry, we have plenty more!

Beckhambooks.com now in the blogosphere

If you may have not already noticed, the Beckhambooks.com blog is now part of that cyberspacial place where lots of different people from all over the world write about all kinds of different things. Adrian has taken up the challange and made a start with some fascinating posts on the more unusual and ancient items in the Beckhambooks.com stock...

franz titelman 400 year old religious text
400 year old Harry Potter?

"Elucidatio in omnes epistolas apostolicas, per F. Franciscum Titelmannum" printed in 1546 is the work of the Dutch theologian and philosopher: Franz Titelmans ...you can read the whole post on Adrian's Beckhambooks.com blog (includes more images of the book itself).

This very old book will be available for sale via the Beckhambooks.com web site soon.

In another blog post Adrian reveals a gem of a collection of Minature books. The tiny, "Small Rain Upon the Tender Herb"(Victorian circa. 1836) is exquisite and very collectable and now SOLD!
