A very good copy of this Whittingham printing, a classic of Victorian book production, supposedly imitative of Queen Elizabeth's prayer book.

A very good 19th century full calf binding. Boards with two-tone brown panelled calf, high-lighted
in gilt. Spine lightly rubbed with original red leather title label 5 raised bands and gilt decorated
compartments. With binder's name to base of spine: "G. Elizabeth".
All edges gilt. Marbled endpapers. Inked dedication in a contemporary hand to front free-endpaper: "Rev. J. Hewetson from G. E. Lackie in memory of loyal work & help in the Goldolphin School, Oct. 1898."
